Many people feel that there is no existing bias against gays and lesbians, while others simply view it as immoral and wrong. Sadly, the term “homosexual” is gradually developing into more and more of a negative statement within our society, due to this. Openly declaring yourself as “gay” or “lesbian” is now an unintentional means of making yourself vulnerable to public reprimand and injustice. Religion is the biggest contributor in feeding this problem and impacting social views. Considering that Christianity alone makes most of America’s collective religion, it is only natural that a majority of United States views a negative aspect of homosexual culture. I believe that in drawing attention to the subject and obtaining information through valid research that I may introduce facts and present a solution to this problem.

Using facts and persuasion, groups of individuals within society can be targeted and made aware of the situation. Specific government and religious suppressions can then be identified and proven unjust. A completely positive image of homosexuality will be shown, as well. Though personal opinion cannot be easily swayed, facing people with facts and truths are able to serve a big impact in re-evaluating their points of view.
From what I've gathered, most people against homosexuality are usually close-minded to the subject because of almost propigandal information fed to them by the church and state. They are pretty much being told what they should believe, rather than examining the facts and deciding based on their own logic.
Once a completely pro-homosexual view will be presented in a primarily heterosexual society, people will be able to see the counter-point-of-view as a whole and link it in retrospect to the bigger picture. There is so much negativity towards it that possibly seeing a fully positive arguement for once will allow opinions to slightly change and minds to open up.
By arguing half of this project through a visual documentary and the other half through a written paper, all aspects are able to be presented in a way that is more persuasive and understandable. A combination of text and visual image will provide a change of pace and increase the desire to pay attention to the topic.
