Groups such as Internal Affairs and Copwatch have been implemented in order to monitor police activity; however, these groups have not been very successful in preventing the abuse of power by police. Different possible solutions to this problem will be discussed. The feasibility of the removal of police from society will be addressed. Many instances of illegal police activities and excess police force will be cited and discussed in my paper in order to show just how big the police problem has gotten in America. People in America are extremely concerned with their freedom and my paper shows just how much police are trying to oppress their freedom. I will also show the extreme levels of racism involved in the police brutality. Rodney King, Amadou Diallo, and Daniel Rocha are a few of the brutality incidents that will be addressed. America is a country deeply concerned with equality and people should not be targeted as criminals simply because of the color of their skin.
