There is no possible way to completely solve the problem of obesity, but there are some things that we can all do to greatly reduce the amount of things that we do to ourselves in regards to our weight. One solution to the fast food problem is plain and simple, and that is to not eat there for every meal like some people do. Eating a fast food meal on the go every now and then is not bad because it is being done in moderation, but the fact that some people eat nearly every meal at a fast food restaurant is unacceptable and more importantly, unhealthy. If you must eat at a fast food restaurant, choose the healthier alternative to a large burger and fries, and if at all possible try to get a sandwich of some sort. Another solution in regards to the lack of exercise of Americans would be to get out there and do something active. For example, instead of parking close, park far away to get the little extra walking in, instead of driving places if they are in biking distance bike there to shed some pounds, and also take the stairs instead of the elevator. People should just always make the effort and make the attempt to do something active all the time. The final solution that people could do would be to make a conscious choice not to watch television as much as they do. When people choose to watch television, they should make a mindful choice to not give in to all of the advertising of the junk foods. While the foods being advertised may be tasty and look great, 95% of those snacks are very unhealthy. In conclusion, everyone must work together if we want to alleviate this problem that we call obesity. The biggest thing that we can do to solve the problem is just to think about the choices we make when it comes to food and our activities. As this may not change over night, I think that it is possible to get the obesity problem under control in a reasonable amount of time if everyone works together.
