The Saints are considered “super-heroes.” At the end of the movie, one character says: “You’ll walk into some kid’s bedroom, and it’s going to be there. You know batman, superman, and these Saints.” They are super-moral characters who have the right to be killing criminals. If any person who felt like killing somebody decided to follow through with this act, problems would arise. For instance, the lynch mobs of the past killed thousands of people, all of whom did not necessarily deserve to die. The lynching era comprised of nearly five decades, ranging from the end of reconstruction to the Great Depression. It is estimated that at least 2,462 African-Americans lost their lives to southern mobs (Braziel). This is what would happen if we allowed groups of people to kill whomever they wanted. Mass amounts of people would be killed for the wrong reasons.
