The food problem of today starts with a drug problem. Many of the foods we consume each day, especially fast foods, contain a drug called Monosodium glutamate, or MSG. MSG is a drug that is absorbed by receptors in nearly every organ in the human body, including the brain. (Why MSG is harmful) Once in the brain, MSG over stimulates brain cells, tricking the consumer’s brain into thinking the food tastes good. This may seem harmless, but this is caused by an intense drug reaction that damages brain cells. MSG also triggers the same “feel good response” and has the same addictive properties of the illegal drug cocaine. Since consumers think the product tastes good because of a chemical additive, this leads companies to use inferior products, which also are unhealthy for the consumer while the consumer eats more and more of it.

Many foods that claim “No MSG Added” actually do contain MSG. The restaurants themselves may not add any, but chances are it is added at the factory where it is produced. Even through extensive research, scientists aren’t even sure which foods contain MSG. They are certain that yeast, gelatin, and salt contain MSG, but there are also dozens of suspected carriers of MSG. These suspects include seasonings, spices, broth, barely malt, whey protein, soy protein, soy sauce, chicken flavoring, beef flavoring, pork flavoring, and even broth. As you can see the problem is very widespread, and how obesity can be caused by a food addiction.
