It is often the case that a government program cannot work unless the community agrees with it. The movie considered this while showing the credits:

I decided to go out and ask various demographics about their opinion of the idea of killing serious offenders. I contacted a male and a female in the following age brackets: high school senior, freshman in college, upper classmen in college, adult, and senior citizen. I asked one question: “If the government was to institute a program in which serious crime offenders were to be killed rather than jailed, would you support it, keeping in mind that the government has clearly defined what is punishable by death and what is not and the community is well-informed of this system.” After polling these different groups of people, a clear-cut majority of the ten people said that they would support the system. Six of the ten people polled would be willing to show support. Of the four people who would not support this program, two people (the female in high school and the female upperclassman in college) would not do so because they feel that the criminal would be “getting off easy” by dying, rather than suffering in jail. Their opinions had nothing to do with the effectiveness of the program or the moral values behind it. In essence, only two of the ten people were unwilling to support this because of moral reasons. Both of these people were males, one in high school and one adult. Although this survey was done in the same general region in the country, information from this poll can be extracted and used as a representation of the general population in the United States. This evidence shows that there is a strong possibility that the general population would approve of this sort of governmental program.
